Baluarte Ti Vigan

Photo Mentors to Hold Workshop in Vigan

Have fun while learning! It’s the best way to learn, especially a technical subject like portrait and wedding photography.

And what better place to have fun and enjoy the sights at the same time than in Baluarte, the wildlife sanctuary of Governor Chavit Singson in Vigan, Ilocos Sur!

The Society of Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (SPPP) is holding its eighth Mentor Series (“Baluarte Ti Vigan”) in Baluarte on April 3 to 6, 2009, with lead instructors Ibarra Deri and Jun Miranda.

SPPP president Boy Samson said all the ingredients for a photo shoot are here: scenic landscape, natural wonders such as waterfalls, sandy beaches, and forests. Contrasting but mingling harmoniously with the natural views are the historic Spanish churches and rural architecture, watchtowers, and museums.

Completing the ingredients for a successul learning experience are leading instructors from Manila, experts in their chosen fields: Ibarra Deri, Jun Miranda, Dail Deri, Orly Mercado, Leah Taas, and Ed Yap. The Deris, Jun, and Ed are editors of i-Mag Photography magazine and instructors at the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging. The other lecturers are pillars of SPPP.

Topics to be covered are wedding photography, child photography, outdoor portraiture, studio portraiture, avant-garde, and Photoshop for photographers. There will be many sessions on location with models.

Workshop fee is P4,500 all inclusive of round-trip transportation from Manila, meals, and lodging. For inquiries contact 0922-8439190 (Gari) or 0917-8303084 (Leah).
